Program Overview

Social workers are dedicated to eliminating social, political and economic injustices. They work in a variety of settings, including health and mental health clinics, organizations that provide assistance to those with chemical dependencies, in anti-poverty programs, child and family services, and schools. Today a social worker is confronted with a complex, multi-layered and multi-cultural community. A social worker s practice involves prevention and resolution of interpersonal, organizational, and community issues. In addition, they are responsible for developing and distributing knowledge to the broader community about such problems and programs.
