Program Overview

The Master of Music Education degree consists of 32 hours of advanced study in music and education. The comprehensive curriculum is designed for both public school educators as well as for those who plan to continue study at the doctoral level. Classes are scheduled to allow degree completion either as a full-time or part-time student. The Department of Music entrance examinations in music education, music history, music theory, and ear training assist in planning each student s exact course of study.

Additional Information & Requirements

Earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution (or its equivalent as determined by the Graduate School). Achieved a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale or a 3.00 GPA on the last 60 hours. Achieved a minimum 3.00 GPA on any previous graduate courses completed at either Arkansas State University or another accredited university. Submitted of cial transcripts from each college or university as requested by the Graduate School. English Language Profeciency (Minimumscore of 6.0 for IELTS and 550 for TOEFL pbt), 2 Letters of Recommendation, Updated Resume, Letter of intent, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Verbal Reasoning section score of 146 and Quantitative Reasoning section score of 145.
