Program Overview

The Master of Music Degree in Performance is a 30-hour program with advanced study in instrumental, vocal, or keyboard performance, piano performance and pedagogy, or instrumental or choral conducting, culminating in a graduate recital. Instruction is provided by faculty members who are recognized as outstanding performers in a wide variety of performance areas. The Department of Music entrance examinations in music history, music theory, and ear training assist in planning each student s exact course of study.

Additional Information & Requirements

Earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution (or its equivalent as determined by the Graduate School). Achieved a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale or a 3.00 GPA on the last 60 hours. Achieved a minimum 3.00 GPA on any previous graduate courses completed at either Arkansas State University or another accredited university. Submitted of cial transcripts from each college or university as requested by the Graduate School. English Language Profeciency (Minimumscore of 6.0 for IELTS and 550 for TOEFL pbt), Autobiography (Statement of Purpose), 2 Letters of Recommendation, Updated Resume, Audition
