In response to the growing demand for data-savvy professionals, the University of Memphis is offering a new MS in Data Science. Throughout this program, students will learn how to use advanced computational and statistical methods and tools to collect, store, retrieve, manipulate, interpret and visualize data. Importantly, these methods and tools will be offered in the context of particular high-demand business and scientific disciplines, so graduates have the understanding and acumen to translate their findings into actions
A U.S. bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university. Official transcripts. GPA: A minimum of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 Verbal and quantitative GRE scores at 70% or above are preferred in each area. Three letters of recommendation from three individuals (at least one letter from a former professor or instructor) Personal statement of approximately 750 to 1,000 words TOEFL iBT: 79 or IELTS 6.0 overall.
