Program Overview

The Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology (CCSP) offers a doctoral program designed to prepare the next generation of diverse scholars in applied psychology. Our primary mission is to prepare graduates for research/academic careers, with a particular focus on strengths-based approaches to working with vulnerable populations. Students complete coursework on research methods and evidence-based practice, gain research training and experience with faculty mentors, and complete practicum experiences in a range of settings. The CCSP program uses a scientist-practitioner model and is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association as a combined psychology program.
