Hofstra University’s School of Education offers the Science Education, MA to candidates who hold initial certification in one of the Science core subjects such as Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry or Physics Grades 7-12 who are seeking advanced study in the curriculum, pedagogy, and content of Mathematics. Individuals may also select concentrated studies in middle level 5-6, gifted education or bilingual education certification extensions.
Application Bachelor’s or graduate degree from a regionally accredited US Institution New York state initial certification for teaching sciences, Biology 7-12, Chemistry 7-12, Physics 7-12, Earth Science 7-12, and General Science Extension. Unofficial Transcripts GPA 3.0 out of (4.0 scale) A minimum GPA of 2.75 on coursework in the content area in which certification is being sought. Personal Statement Two Letters of Recommendation TOEFL iBT: 80 OR IELTS 6.5 overall. GRE (optional)
