Hofstra University’s School of Education offers the Science Education, MSEd to candidates seeking their first NYS certification teaching one of the applicable science concentrations at the Grades 7-12 level. This program is designed to blend on-campus preparation with field experiences in a variety of school settings, culminating in full-time student teaching. Literacy, multicultural education, and information technology are integrated throughout all aspects of the program. Candidates will also be eligible to pursue the General Science certification. Concentration options include:
Application Bachelor’s or graduate degree from a regionally accredited US Institution Unofficial Transcripts GPA 3.0 out of (4.0 scale) A minimum GPA of 2.75 on coursework in the content area in which certification is being sought. Personal Statement Two Letters of Recommendation TOEFL iBT: 80 OR IELTS 6.5 overall. GRE (optional)
