The Social Studies Education Program offers two masters degree programs. The Master of Education (MEd) is for individuals who already hold teacher certification; the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is for those who are not certified. Both feature flexible programs of study with an emphasis on research in social studies education and individual student interests; the MAT includes extensive field work, including a semester of student teaching.
