2 Years Part Time Masters Program
Hofstra University’s School of Education offers a dual certification master’s program in both Special Education Grades 1-6 and Teaching English as a Second Language K-12. Candidates will be prepared to serve both students with disabilities earning the NYS Students with Disabilities certification, along with being able to provide TESOL services to K-12 learners, having earned the NYS TESOL K-12 certification. Applicants must be hold base certification in Childhood Grades 1-6 in order to be considered.
Application Bachelor’s or graduate degree from a regionally accredited US Institution Initial or professional New York state teacher certification in early childhood, childhood, middle childhood, adolescent education, or literacy. General Education core-Twelve (12) semester hours of second language study or demonstrated proficiency in a second language on a nationally normed standardized test Unofficial Transcripts GPA 3.0 out of (4.0 scale) Personal Statement Three Letters of Recommendation Interview TOEFL iBT: 80 OR IELTS 6.5 overall. GRE (optional)
