The M.Ed in Special Education is designed for practicing teachers in general or special education who are seeking a Master’s degree and endorsement as a Learning Behavior Specialist 1, Learning Behavior Specialist 2, or Early Childhood Special Education approval.
The purpose of this program is to address the significant shortage of competent and well qualified special educators who will become leaders in their schools to improve inclusion for students with disabilities, improve collaboration with families and colleagues, and improve student learning.
Application A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution must be verified. Official transcripts. GPA: A minimum of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 TOEFL iBT: 80 or IELTS 6.5 overall, no sub-score lower than 6.0 List of 3 References, including name, title and contacto information, waived for applicants with a 3.0 or higher GPA NCE Graduate Admission Essay Faculty Review or interview may be required Applicants must have an Illinois Professional Educator License
