The institution owns and occupies the second through sixth floors of the downtown Chicago Peoples Gas Building on Michigan Avenue, across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago, in the Historic Michigan Boulevard District. The university's inaugural classes were held in rented rooms at the budding Art Institute (at its previous location on Michigan Avenue at Van Buren).

The Gage Building, located at 18 S. Michigan Ave., was purchased by National Louis University in December 2018. Kendall College's culinary arts and hospitality management departments will have a new home starting in 2019.

National Louis University is pleased to announce a collaboration with mRelief to assist more students and families in need of food. mRelief is a Chicago-based NGO that uses a simple text, web, and voice platform to link kids to food resources such as SNAP benefits (commonly known as food stamps). More than 500,000 families have been connected to social assistance through mRelief, and the company is working to help more students access SNAP benefits. The Daily Grind is a student-run coffee shop on campus that is located in our foyer. Delicious coffee, tea, and snacks are available. It's open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays while school is in session.

Short–term or Weekend Gateways

Students can explore various places near Nation Louis University, Genola, Utah is located 60 miles south of Salt Lake City and is surrounded by slopes, marshy areas, and mountain-fed lakes. All year round, children are served by federal Head Start childcare programs. Migrant farmworkers arrive in Genola throughout the summer months to work the summer harvest. The children of migrant workers are cared for at the Genola Migrant Head Start Center. The school has a bi-lingual student body. The Genola Migrant Head Start Center provides care for children ranging in age from birth to five years.

To be considered for admission to NLU, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.00 on a 4.0 scale. Students with a GPA of less than 2.00 but a high potential for success may be considered for admission.

If English is not the applicant's native language and/or the applicant's high school diploma was acquired outside the United States, proof of English language competency is required. If the candidate possesses proof of completing a high school diploma at an institution where English is the predominant medium of teaching, this condition may be waived. Official English as a Foreign Language Examination (TOEFL). Scores: Applicants with a bachelor's degree: For the TOEFL paper test, a minimum score of 72 on the Internet-based test (iBT) or a total score of 533 is required (PBT).

A regionally approved bachelor's degree is required. There are some exceptions.
Where degrees were conferred, official transcripts from all universities were required. Official transcripts from all institutions attended may be required by some programs.
GPA of 3.0 (there may be exceptions at the college level)
If English is not the applicant's native language and/or the applicant's high school diploma was acquired outside the United States, proof of English language competency is required.
