Saint Louis University's Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) with alternative certification is designed to provide current and aspiring teachers with an advanced degree and an alternative route to certification through Missouri's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This program welcomes applicants with undergraduate degrees other than education. Individuals who were education majors are also encouraged to explore whether the M.A.T. will fit their career goals.
