MA Rhetoric and Philosophy of Technology

1 Year On Campus Masters Program

Duquesne University

Program Overview

The Rhetoric & Philosophy of Technology emphasis (30 credits) focuses on the ethical engagement of technology in personal and professional life. Rhetoric & Philosophy of Technology works out of the media ecology tradition to explore ideas and issues that have a profound impact on communication and culture - some obvious and less obvious, but all vital to human life, liberty, and responsibility. Media ecology, as defined by Neil Postman, includes examination of the role of various communication media and how they have impacted human communication, perception, and experience.
