A joint program of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the School of Public Health, the professional master's in health journalism and communication promotes improved public communication about health matters by combining knowledge, skills, and experience from both disciplines. The program is designed for journalists and health professionals, who earn a master's degree in health journalism. Journalists and communications professionals learn the fundamentals of medical research and public health. Health professionals learn basic journalistic principles and ethics, and how to develop meaningful health stories.
