Program Overview

The University Of Akron College Of Nursing offers a Nurse Anesthesia Program that prepares Registered Nurses to become Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). Successful completion of the program leads to the Master of Science in Nursing Degree. The program is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and graduates are eligible to take the certification examination. The nurse anesthesia curriculum is comprised of 62 credit hours which include the core graduate nursing courses, advanced physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, physics, basic and advanced pharmacology and principles of anesthesiology.

Original transcripts/diplomas or certified true copies from all universities, professional schools, and/or colleges previously attended (or currently attending), Minimum 3.0 undergraduate grade point average in coursework , Hold a bachelor's degree in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing program, 3 Letters of references, Resume, English Language profeciency (with a minimum score of 79 for TOEFL and 6.5 for IELTS), Statement of purpose, 300 word Essay, One year recent experience in an adult or gerontological care setting
