Historically, students interested in impacting public welfare as health care managers have had only two degree options: a public policy degree or a public health degree. Unfortunately, the broad focus of a public policy degree does not give students insights into the nuances and complexities of the health care industry. Conversely, a public health degree focuses too narrowly on epidemiology, which is the science of causes and triggers of disease.
