MA / MS Mathematics, Science, & Engineering Education (MSE)

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Illinois Urbana Champaign

Program Overview

The Mathematics, Science, and Engineering (MSE) Education program area focuses on research in mathematics, science, and engineering education. Our graduate degrees offer the advantage of establishing connections between research and practice. We promote interdisciplinary research and collaborative partnerships that will enhance your educational preparation.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degree programs are for students who have research interests in education. Students often enter these programs with the intent of eventually pursuing a doctoral program leading to the Ed.D. or Ph.D. degree. There is no difference between the M.A. and the M.S. degree programs. The major difference between these degrees and the Ed.M. is the requirement that a master's thesis be completed and defended as part of the M.A. or M.S. degree. We offer M.A. and M.S. degrees in an on-campus format.
