The Master of Arts in Mathematics for Teachers program is designed primarily for secondary and middle school mathematics teachers, but is also available to all teachers with an interest in further study in mathematics, as well as to individuals making a career change to teaching. This content-based master s program is different than traditional master s degrees in education or in mathematics. To actively engage students in mathematical thinking, educators must have a solid foundation of content knowledge across the breadth of mathematics as well as exposure to a wide variety of pedagogical techniques. With the guidance of our talented faculty, you will deepen your mathematical content knowledge and gain insight into teaching methods that will help you reach students at all ability levels.
