2 Years On Campus Masters Program
The interdepartmental CMDB program offers paths of study toward both a Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. The great majority of students enroll in the Ph.D. program. The average time it takes to earn a degree is 5.5 years.
We also admit a limited number of master's degree students. The average time to degree is two years. On occasion master's degree students continue on to complete a Ph.D. at UCR.
Master's degree students in our program are required to take a set of core courses in Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology.
This core provides students with great flexibility within these disciplines.
Each new student meets with their graduate advisor to discuss the most appropriate course of study.
