The Master of Science in physics is designed for students interested in teaching or research. The department offers three specializations for the M.S.: applied physics, basic physics and physics teaching. Within these specializations students can work with faculty on thesis problems in the areas of condensed matter physics, elementary particles and fields, accelerator physics and physics education research.
