The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences trains experimental psychologists for research and teaching positions in academic settings and for research careers in the private sector. The Department has cultivated a tradition of carrying out empirically based research in contemporary experimental psychology with strong support for interdisciplinary approaches. Faculty offer vigorous training programs while carrying out research at the leading edge of several core areas of experimental psychology, including Cognition and Perception, Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental and Evolutionary Psychology, Neuroscience and Behavior, and Social Psychology.
