Program Overview

The PhD is an internationally recognised and highly transferable qualification designed for graduates to demonstrate academic leadership, independence, creativity and innovation in their research work. Under the supervision of academic staff, PhD students complete a thesis of approximately 80,000 100,000 words over a maximum period of up to four years full-time. The thesis should demonstrate a critical application of specialist knowledge and make an independent contribution to existing research in the field.

A four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and have achieved a minimum weighted average of 80% or (University of Melbourne) equivalent; A masters degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and achieved a minimum weighted average of 80% or (University of Melbourne) equivalent; A qualification and professional experience considered to be equivalent; a research proposal; and, referee reports, the endorsement of a prospective supervisor, Test scores: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, CAE
