Program Overview

The Department of Chemistry offers programs leading to a degree in analytical, materials, chemical, biology, organic, inorganic, nuclear, physical, and theoretical chemistry, but also encourages studies at the interface of two or more sub-disciplines. In the PhD program students must complete a body of original research, write and defend a thesis, and satisfy the coursework requirements. The aim of the graduate program in Chemistry at SFU is to attract the very best students and encourage their development into independent, high quality scholars while pursuing research in a personal, supportive and interdisciplinary environment.

A thesis-based Master's degree in the discipline , 1st class/Upper Division in all degrees or equivalent, IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band, MELAB of 85, TOEFL ibT of 80 with a minimum of 20 in each of the four components, (PTE) Academic of 59, CanTEST 4.5 with No Band below 4.0, CAEL of 70, Transcripts, Resume and Personal Statement, References
