Program Overview

This specialized thesis-based degree is designed to help students develop the philosophical, theoretical, research, and practical expertise required to offer effective psychological education and counselling. The program offers you the opportunity to study diverse topics of particular relevance to counsellors, including interpersonal communication, lifespan human development, family functioning, career assessment and evaluation, and statistics and research design. The program follows a scientist-practitioner model of training and is delivered on campus only, with a two-year residency required. Training is based on the definition of counselling psychology approved by the Canadian Psychological Association s board of directors.

A thesis-based Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or equivalent , (GPA) in the final two years of study of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 point system, TOEFL iBT of 97, IELTS of 7.0 (Academic version), MELAB score of 83, PTE score of 68, Tests must have been taken within the last two years, Transcripts, Study proposal, Curriculum vitae, 2 Reference letter, A concise rationale for the application (500 words or less), Police Information Check
