Program Overview

This thesis-based degree prepares students to work as school psychologists or to develop specialized knowledge of school and applied child psychology for use in learning or community settings. Course content for the PhD program follows the accreditation guidelines created by the Canadian Psychological Association s standards for training. The mission is to turn out psychologists who will use their solid scientific foundations of psychology and education to enhance outcomes for learners of all ages in a wide range of applied settings. Graduates have gone on to find rewarding careers in schools and community agencies and in academic and research positions in institutions of higher education.

A thesis-based Master's degree in School and Applied Child Psychology or equivalent, (GPA) in the final two years of study of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 point system, TOEFL iBT of 97, IELTS of 7.0 (Academic version), MELAB score of 83 or higher, 3 Reference letter, Police Information Check, A typed CV,A concise rationale (500 words or less) for the application, A list of any academic awards, achievements, honours or other distinctions you have received. Itemize the monetary amount and the total,A list of all publications and conference presentations you have on your r sum and specify whether the work was peer reviewed or non-peer reviewed, Information about any financial support for your degree in the form of an award, sponsorship, or other. Please indicate the dollar amount and duration of the support, and when it is to start, A list of any professional school psychology experience you have had (employment or volunteer). Please specify full-time or part-time and for how long.
