The PhD in Gerontology program at Simon Fraser University provides advanced research training in gerontology grounded in an interdisciplinary theoretical foundation, current and prospective substantive issues, a range of research methods and statistical techniques, and knowledge to translate research into practice and policy. The department of Gerontology has a synergistic relationship with the Gerontology research centre that provides students with an enriched educational and training experience, as well as opportunities to apply their skills in an intelectually stimulating research environment.
A master's degree, or the equivalent, in related field, cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5, post-secondary transcripts, CV including scholarly work, statement of intent, Statement of Work / Volunteer Experience in Gerontology, Writing Sample, Statement of Research Interest, three referees from academics/researchers who have first-hand knowledge of the applilcant's research capabilities and academic training, First Class or First Division in all degrees, TOEFL ibT of 93 with minimum of 20 in each category, IELTS of overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section
