PhD Civil Engineering

The Program is oriented to the training of specialists who have a deep command in a Civil Engineering area and who are capable of making contributions to the advancement of this scientific-technological discipline.Graduates of the Program will be trained to hold academic positions in higher education institutions,both in teaching and research. They may also carry out research and development tasks in organizations and companies in the area.The graduate will have the following transversal competences to all specialties.Mastery of the Civil Engineering sciences and ability to identify gaps in knowledge,based on a critical review of the scientific literature.. Ability to understand and interpret the results of the methods and technologies used in the investigation of problems associated with civil engineering works and systems,including the use of computational,experimental,numerical and analytical tools.
