PhD Geology

The objective of this Program is to train high-level graduates to develop scientific research in the field of Geology,the results of which constitute a significant contribution,either to science or its applications,and / or to take responsibility for the coordination of multidisciplinary teams of investigation. To do so,they must pass a higher study program and carry out research through a thesis.The PhD Program in Sciences,Geology Mention contemplates various research areas in the field of geological sciences,such as: Andean geodynamics including tectonics,seismotectonics,geomorphology,petrogenesis and geochemistry of igneous,sedimentary and metamorphic rocks,paleomagnetism,metalogenesis of deposits gold and copper,among others,isotope geochemistry and mineralogy,energy resources such as geothermal and hydrocarbons,geology and environmental geochemistry,hydrogeology,geological engineering,geological hazards and geological systems modeling.
