Graduates from the Ph.D. program in Romance Literatures are highly qualified specialists trained to conduct research work in their field (one or more Romance-speaking areas). They are able to analyze the literature of the chosen Romance-speaking area in a qualified manner, applying a synchronic or diachronic approach and modern literary methods and research procedures. Moreover, their expertise includes the knowledge of general literary theory, the fundamentals of comparative literature and literary theory and criticism with a special emphasis on the chosen Romance-speaking area.

A completed Master s degree in a related field of study, an official transcript of records from your previous university studies, an official translation of the two above into Czech (translation is not required if the original documents were issued in English), a certificate of equivalence from Czech educational authorities which states that your certificate/diploma is recognised in the Czech Republic (called nostrification ), if you completed your previous education abroad, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.5, IB English 6, Melab 77, TOEIC 605
