Program Overview

The graduate knows methods of analysis of media production, media products and content, audiences and users. He is an expert on the history and present of the media and their position in the transformation of the social, political and cultural context, which is able to synthesize knowledge in the social sciences and humanities and interpret current trends in media development and media and strategic communication. Graduates of doctoral studies are prepared for pedagogical and scientific careers at universities in the Czech Republic and abroad, and they are employed as media analysts in applied research. As social scientists, they can work at institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic or at other scientific workplaces. They can also act as analysts of communication processes in the political sphere.

A completed Master s degree in a related field of study, an official transcript of records from your previous university studies, an official translation of the two above into Czech (translation is not required if the original documents were issued in English), a certificate of equivalence from Czech educational authorities which states that your certificate/diploma is recognised in the Czech Republic (called nostrification ), if you completed your previous education abroad, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.5, IB English 6, Melab 77, TOEIC 605
