The subject of the study is dynamics, interrelationships and functional-structural characteristics of basic components of eukaryotic cell in norm, experiment and pathology. Furthermore, they are general functional cell manifestations, such as cell cycle, movement, etc., including its regulatory mechanisms. The methodological dominant is in particular modern methods of light and electron microscopy. The discipline overlaps with a number of other disciplines, especially genetics, molecular biology, structural biology, biochemistry and physiology.
