Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme is a flagship programme of the department's research. All PhD scholars contribute in a significant way to the research activities of the department. Students after graduating with a PhD degree from EE department are expected to play leadership roles in research and development in various disciplines of EE either in industry or in academic institutes.

First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in M. Sc or equivalent degree in subjects related to Life Sciences/ Physics/ Chemistry OR B.Tech Biotechnology and a valid GATE score.
