Program Overview

This research domain deals with both the fundamental and applied sciences of biodiversity. It covers current issues on biodiversity conservation, impacts of human activities on biodiversity, and its conservation and integration methods in the national development of natural resources. It comprises areas of botany, zoology, phylogenesis, traditional and molecular taxonomy, conservation genetics, ethnobotany, mycology and plant pathology including study on mycorrhiza and plant root endophytes, modern application of traditional knowledge, biomechanistic assays of natural products from endemic species, pedobiology, malacology, parasitology, ichthyology, entomology and forest and wildlife conservation.
