Program Overview

Tourism is an interdisciplinary field of study that has links to business studies, resource analysis, social theory and environmental studies. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) majoring in Tourism degree helps students develop an understanding of the key issues surrounding tourism, its impact and ongoing management. Students are encouraged to take papers in other fields such as Commerce (e.g. Accounting, Management or Marketing) or Humanities (e.g. Anthropology, Geography, History, Languages, Maori Studies) depending on their interests and their intended career destination.
