The PhD programme is aimed at attracting the top students from Asia and beyond, and training them to engage in frontier research in economics.The School has expertise in a wide range of areas, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, energy economics, health economics and econometrics. Throughout your PhD, you ll have the opportunity to contribute to the teaching and research activity of the School and to participate in seminars and present your own work in the field workshops. You will also be encouraged to submit your paper to presentation at conferences, which we can support you to attend.

A good Honours and Masters degree in relevant disciplines such as the humanities, social sciences, area studies, and other inter-disciplinary studies with evidence of having read subjects related to Southeast Asia or Asia, the ability to pursue research in the candidate s proposed field of advanced study, TOEFL ibT of 85, IELTS of 6.0, CAP of 3.50
