PhD in Comparative Political and Social History

3 Years On Campus Phd Program

Autonomous University of Barcelona

Program Overview

The PhD programme in Comparative, Political and Social History is the culmination of the study of modern and contemporary history and a broad variety of topics. This diversity comes from what characterises the subject of history itself but also from a desire to harmonise it with new trends, constant updating of information and the establishment of fruitful links with other close or related subjects. The receipt first of a Quality award and then of a Pathway to Excellence award that the programme has received since 2006 are a faithful reflection of the fact that the lecturers have a very high level of teaching and research competence. Currently, the combination of experience and teaching of the leading lecturers and the speed of the young researchers and lecturers has contributed to them being in a privileged position within the discipline of history.
