3 Years Online Phd Program

Ashland University

Program Overview

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is a practice-focused degree that prepares nurses to function at the highest level of practice for the current healthcare environment based on a strong scientific foundation for practice. The online DNP programs emphasize evidence-based practice, leadership, cultural competence, organizational analysis and policy. Students prepare for advance practice roles and nursing faculty positions. The Doctor of Nursing Practice online format is flexible, although each cohort will be required to participate in residency requirements throughout the program. The Capstone Project is an integral part of the total program of study as well as the culminating activity. The project represents an original application of knowledge in the area of student specialization. The target benefits of the intervention or innovation designed by the student would be beyond the individual patient or family and focus more on institutions, patient populations or communities.
