Program Overview

This course will introduce you to alternative practices and natural materials which form part of sustainable and environmentally conscious design. You will be exposed to the developing field of Permaculture, as well as the practical application of natural and alternative construction technology, building systems and natural finishes. If you are already working in the built environment and would like to learn more about sustainable and ecologically friendly construction methods, or you have a specific interest in creating a green or ecologically friendly space, then, this course is for you. No prior learning needs to be in place but a keen interest in construction, the built environment or ecological design is recommended. The outcome for this module is to produce environmentally sensitive and responsible thought through application of alternative and natural building systems.
