Introduction

The excitement of obtaining an admission acknowledgment from your dream university is immense, but even so, the preparation does not end. The following step is creating a checklist, which can be especially challenging.

It's not simple to move out from one’s homeland and settle somewhere else for a while. Pre-departure guidance is thus very important before you go ahead in your journey. We have helped you with a pre-departure guide to assist your study abroad journey.

Before departing to a new nation, you must consider many factors, as you are not traveling on vacation. Furthermore, you will be staying alone. Keep a note of the following pre-departure guide to lead a worry-free student life -

1.  Health-Related Things

Full body examination - as treatment options abroad, particularly orthodontic and vision care, are extremely expensive.

2. Immunization: Every university mandates its students to have some necessary vaccinations, so make sure you have followed the rule.

3. Insurance: Student medical coverage is necessary for studying at foreign universities. Buying it from your home country saves you a significant amount of money, up to 80 percent in some instances.

4. Medicines: Buy as many common prescription drugs as possible, as some are pricey in the international market. Refer to the following list of the basic tablets that one must carry:

  • Crocin for sickness, cold, headache, and torso Pain
  • For indigestion and gastric issues, get a Gelucil or a Zinetac

5. Cooking and food-related essentials

  • Spices and a pressure cooker( 3 - 7 liters)
  • Please bring plenty of home-cooked food you can store for a few weeks (such as thepla) because it will be beneficial initially.

Note: Cutlery items such as spoons, cutters, plates, glasses, and baskets are readily available in other countries. Do not pack them.

6.  Electronics to bring when studying abroad

While electronics are typically cheaper there, you may also get India-based equipment such as:

  • You can carry your laptop and a hard disk drive. As every university has some laptop requirements, you must first check their regulations.
  • Bring a few converters to power these gadgets.

7. Luggage

  • For your check-in bags, linear dimensions must not exceed 62 inches. Also, keep track of the total weight; it should not be more than 23 kgs.
  • Ensure that you have Transportation Security Administration locks and travel insurance cover in your luggage.

The admission services of universities will require you to furnish these documents - Original transcripts, Immunisation records, fee receipts, travel and Identity proof, passport, and VISA photocopies.
