Al Thuraya Foundation, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organization located in Edinburgh, pursues to provide benefit by concentrating on the provision of funding and mentoring of young scholars, encouraging the advancement of education. The Foundation aims to focus its efforts to support and invest in education as a way to develop promising yet needy people and societies, commencing with the Middle East North Africa Region and hopefully stretching its support on a global scale in due course. The Foundation desires to facilitate positive change and development through providing hope and opportunity to exceptional young individuals, building and developing the MENA region's views through the highest levels of education in the world's most prestigious universities. AlThuraya Foundation students will be excellently located to gain the required skills to effect positive change in their respective societies, the region, and the world.
Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines
Conditions for qualification for the AlThuraya MENA Program are as follows:
Students should be generally a national of the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen; and a resident in one of the above mentioned countries, with the exception of Syrian refugees who are not required to be residing in one of the listed countries, and of Palestinians residing in Israel.
Evidence of academic, research and/or professional merit (demonstrated through reference letters)
Explanation of future promise (demonstrated through a letter of intent, interviews, and other required essays)
Proof of financial need.
Candidates must already be offered acceptance in one of our partner universities (for a Master's Program)
