The George W. Jenkins Scholarship is one of the prestigious scholarships awarded by the University of Miami to the high school senior students. Only U.S citizens and residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia are eligible to contest for the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines
To be eligible an applicant:
- Must meet the first year admission requirements
- Must be a U.S citizen
- Must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale
- Must be actively involved in community service activities
How to Apply:
• In addition to submitting the application form on the CommonApp, a guidance counselor must also submit the Counselor Nomination Form nominating the student before December.
• The student nominated should write an essay not exceeding 800 words with more prominence given to challenges faced by the student and he or she overcame that challenge.
• Followed by the submission of Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS Profile before December.
