D. Shannon Hollen Scholarship

In 2015, Shan Hollen endowed this scholarship to support incoming first-year students who have graduated from a public high school in Rockingham County/Harrisonburg, Virginia Alumni Club region.  Mr. Hollen is passionate about the University of Virginia has earned a degree in English Language and Literature. This scholarship seeks to support students with a similar passion for UVA.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

This scholarship is valid for U.S citizens.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to an incoming first-year student from the Harrisonburg/Rockingham County Alumni Chapter region, who graduated from a public high school and best exemplifies the qualities of academic merit, leadership, and citizenship.

Importance will be given to students with financial need. 

Scholars should express why the University of Virginia was their priority choice for college.

This scholarship is tenable for 4 years of undergraduate study and can be renewed annually.
