The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program in Early Childhood Education (birth to second grade) offers future teachers a substantive knowledge base in all areas of child development, focusing on the special needs of students who come from high-need areas. Students learn general and advanced principles of cognitive, physical, and affective development as well as practical insights for incorporating developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities. In addition to its early childhood courses, the program provides students with a broad education in the liberal arts.
