This innovative program combines creative design and practical business to cultivate graduates who are prepared to excel in the fashion industry. By integrating both aspects, students develop a unique skill set that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship.
The program offers a comprehensive understanding of the global fashion industry, encompassing modules on marketing and business that are specifically tailored to the fashion sector. Emphasis is placed on exploring the sustainability of the fashion industry, equipping students with the knowledge and insights to become responsible leaders in the field. Additionally, students will acquire a diverse range of technical and practical skills, including pattern cutting, garment construction, and the utilization of computer-aided fashion design software.
A significant portion of the practical work takes place in our Fashion Factory, an industry-standard Design and Cutting Studio. This purpose-built facility replicates an industrial environment and serves as a central hub for Fashion Design with Business students. It provides an authentic experience for students, allowing them to engage in the entire design process, from concept development to garment production.
The program maintains strong connections with the fashion industry, regularly inviting guest speakers to share their expertise and provide students with current insights from employers and industry professionals. This integration of industry perspectives ensures students stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the field.
For admission to the program, the following academic qualifications are accepted:
A level: BCC, with a minimum of a grade C/4 in Art/Textile, Maths, and English at GCSE level.
ILC Higher: H1 H2 H3 H3 H3, including a minimum of H2 in English and Art, and H5/O2 in Maths.
IB Diploma: 26 points, including the completion of Visual Arts, English, and Maths.
Indian Curriculum: 60%
BTEC: DMM Extended Diploma, accompanied by a minimum of a grade C/4 in Art/Textile, Maths, and English at GCSE level.
For entry into Year 3, applicants should have completed a College Higher National Diploma (HND) in Fashion, specializing in either Design and Production with Retail, Fashion Design and Manufacture, or Textiles. The HND should have achieved graded units with a minimum of AB.
