BS Mechanical Engineering

Purdue strongly focuses on experiential learning and offers numerous possibilities for students to gain real-world experience in combination with their academic program:

• Undergraduate Research: Students are encouraged to collaborate with faculty on research through programs like the SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship), working on projects ranging from advanced robotics to clean energy.
• Co-ops and Internships: There is a high success rate for students to have internships and cooperative education at corporations such as General Motors, Tesla, Boeing, Cummins, GE, and NASA, even while they are still in school.
