Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) is a top-ranked program that offers an undergraduate major focused on the science of human communication and disorders affecting our ability to communicate effectively. In SLHS, you will learn about the mechanisms underlying our ability to hear sounds, understand language, speak and swallow. You will gain foundational knowledge in the evaluation, treatment and research driving the field of human communication and its disorders (e.g., aphasia, autism, stuttering, voice and swallowing impairments and hearing loss, to name a few).
