As a first-semester freshman, a student may be granted admission into the Criminology and Criminal Justice (CCJS) major upon admission to the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). Entering freshmen can list CCJS as their intended major on their application. First semester freshmen have until the last day of classes in their first semester to change and/or add the CCJS major through the major change process, which begins by meeting with the CCJS departmental advisors. All students accepted directly as freshmen into the CCJS major will be subject to an academic review at 45 attempted Maryland credits (this excludes AP or IB credits and any Freshmen Connection credits) in order to remain in the major.
Two letters of recommendation: one from your school counselor and one from a teacher, Official high school transcripts, Official college transcripts (if necessary), Official standardized test scores, Activities and awards list or resume, Proof of English proficiency (International applicants only)
