Masters in Biochemistry

2 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Purdue University West Lafayette

Program Overview

Biochemists combine the principles of chemistry, biology, mathematics and physics to study the structure, organization and chemical reactions of biomolecules that constitute living organisms. It is an exciting period of rapid discovery in biochemistry, and we invite you to join us to create new insight into the natural world. Some of the research interests of our faculty include elucidating the molecular bases of chromosomal epigenetics in a variety of model systems, applying mass spectrometry to the study of cancer and cell cycle regulation, determining three-dimensional structures of proteins and nucleic acids that catalyze chemical reactions, and deciphering important biosynthetic pathways in plants and other organisms.
