The Department of Biological Sciences is one of the largest and most active departments at UIC. The department offers undergraduate opportunities in all major areas of biology, including molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, neuroscience, ecology, and evolution. Program emphasizes original research and prepares students for careers in research and teaching. Cutting-edge faculty and student research spans the discipline of biology, including biodiversity, cell biology, development, evolution, structural biology, restoration and community ecology, synaptic function, and circuitry for sensorimotor integration.
