Entomology has been a core component of Purdue University and the College of Agriculture since 1879. Our students explore opportunities well beyond the confines of their primary research areas, through opportunities for multi-disciplinary work, leadership roles throughout the university and participation in the teaching and extension missions of the university. All students are supported through research or teaching assistantships.
Our department, consisting of 25 faculty and 50+ graduate (MS, PhD) and undergraduate students, conducts research in the areas of integrated pest management; insect-plant-interactions; systematic entomology; vector biology; urban entomology; molecular, behavioral and population genetics; and insect biochemistry and cell biology.
